gpg's email address correctness test is overly strict
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Issue 1236 might not be a bug, but it's still my wish, because the local part of
my e-mail address is {^_^}. BTW this bug tracking system has no problems at all
with the same e-mail address, so at least the bug tracking system is already RFC
compliant. (Otherwise I'd to look for the bug tracking system of the tracking
system.)

Event Timeline

Fixed for master (2.1) with commit 71e7a16.

"!#$%&'*+/=?^`{|}~" are now also allowed in the local part.

Do you need a backport?

Thanks for having fixed it for master. It's OK so, because a comment to Issue
1236 shows me a workaround (--allow-freeform-uid) until the next release.
